What is Our Goal for Our Family?

“What is the goal?” is a question people on this app ask me a lot. We always knew we wanted more than a couple of kids but we never set out to have a certain number. I can earnestly say that we don’t have that planned out. We’re just thankful for the gifts we’ve been given so far and we keep our hands open to receive more gifts that The Lord may have for us.

**Watching the relationships between our children has truly been one of sweetest parts of parenthood that we never saw coming.**

We really want to create a close family culture where our children support each other as they grow, and that doesn’t start once they’re older, that starts now. We tell them all the time that even though these people you live with now might get on your nerves sometimes, they are your best friends. No one else will know your history and beginnings like them and one day when we are dead and gone they, along with your spouses, will be your support system.

My children don’t all share blood but it doesn’t matter; they are all equally Ingrams through and through. As parents we can work hard to encourage their friendships when they’re little and pray for God’s protection over that as they become adults.

My sister is my best friend, and I’m also blessed to have a best friend who isn’t in my family who is also like a sister! Are you close to your sibling(s) and if so, what has been the glue that has held you together as adults?
